Join us for a day of hands-on learning about DataStax Enterprise (Search, Analytics, Graph, Operations and Security) and Apache Cassandra™ (Core
Cassandra, Cassandra Data Modeling and Application Development).
Create your own agenda, tailored to your needs; whether it is learning the fundamentals of Apache Cassandra™, creating data models, getting started quickly with application development using the DataStax drivers, trying search features, running ad-hoc queries on your data and/or
graph access patterns.
Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to network with our experts, Developer Advocates and peers! Let’s be awesome together!

About the sessions Below is a session outline, go to DataStax Academy for event agenda and sessions details.
DataStax Academy is your free go-to-resource for learning about DataStax Enterprise and Apache Cassandra™.
You will need to register if you are not a member.
It will only take a minute!
Welcome and general session We’ll kick off our day with an introduction to the capabilities of Apache Cassandra™ and DataStax Enterprise, including an overview of how these technologies are used in real-world use cases and
the latest and greatest features.
Sessions you will be able to choose from: Core Cassandra Our most popular session! Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of Cassandra, its position
relative to relational technologies and DSE in this engaging hands-on session.
Cassandra Data Modeling Your data model is the single biggest factor in whether you’ll be successful with Cassandra.
In this session you’ll learn how Cassandra data modeling is different than traditional relational data modeling, and how to create data models for your applications that will scale effectively as your system grows.
Cassandra Application Development A
database by itself isn’t very useful - we need to develop applications on top of our databases that leverage the power of our data.
In this session you’ll learn how to get started quickly with application development on top of Cassandra using the DataStax drivers, as well as best practices to keep your applications running smoothly.
DataStax Enterprise Search Sometimes you need a bit
more flexibility in finding data in Cassandra, especially when you need complex queries or don’t know all of your queries beforehand.
This session will help participants familiarize themselves with DSE Search.
Using common Search use cases, participants will try out several search features and see how they enhance or improve upon basic Cassandra functionality.
DataStax Enterprise Analytics Big data is...well...big.
Apache Cassandra makes querying your transactional data a snap as long as your data model accommodates such.
But how do you take that data and run ad-hoc queries on it? You know, the queries that tells your data analyst what strategic business decisions would be wise.
Come and find out how DataStax Enterprise analytics provides you tools to do so.
DataStax Enterprise Graph Come and see why so many people are excited about the power of Graph databases.
This hands-on session focuses on graph access patterns that are commonly seen in many real-life graph problem solutions.
It features many practice problems, where the access pattern complexity is gradually increased from elements to paths, from paths to subgraphs, and from subgraphs to arbitrary graph patterns.
